sex - TRA ordinaire...

the stigma of flower is a stigma for a sexual organ. in animals, the male sexual organ is the penis, a tubular extension from the body, whereas in plants, the stigma, the female sex organ is shaped like a 'penis'....

how come? but the function of the stigma, is to receive pollens, just like the vagina receiving the penis.

hmm... sex is a weirdo thingie.

you have the salmons swimming all the way back from ocean up the river to 'fuck' and die after 'fucking' as if they are performing a last rite with their lives as sacrificial offerings to extend the existence of their gene-pool.... the mating of the black widows, the male risking his life to inject the female with his genes .... who said there's no fatherly love? you have worker ants, bees almost never tasted sex in their whole life, suppressed by the queen's chemical - and the queen sex the whole day for a limited period of time and become an egg-laying machine for the rest of her life.... what a division of labor for a colony - an organism with divided individuals, having different functions... with a common goal.

as for human - sex has deviated so much from the original purpose of procreation, that one day, human's so fucked-up that the people from the dark ages is gon to take over the world.

fear - for what?

"you're very noisy..." she was complaining that he tossed and tussled throughout the nite on bed, that her sleep was greatly affected.

"sorry...."

he was having nitemares - out of primal fears... that he shirks his responsibility as a manager. that his job is on the line. and he has to consider giving his son the best tertiary education he could afford. that he has to continue doing waht he doing for another 10 years, though he's getting extremely tired what all this jazz. there;s extremely contradiction within himself hating what's been going on all this while.... hating himself for letting it happen. now things come back to bite him. to eat into his soul, his dreams, his deepest inner self... his being.

extreme restlessness, worries, and fear.

tampines river - birds

the bird shooters like to come to this place - the tampines river that cuts across the pasir ris park. this was the 2nd time he was here in a period of 3 weeks. with a sigma 28-200mm mf zoom lens, he barely catch a glimpse of birds on the trees, in flight 100 yards away.

the guy next to him, mr chan - a regular bird shooter from the neighborhood, was using a 400mm dedicated lens on his canon eos 7d mark1, captured some very clean and sharp shots. he taught him a few tricks, like use continuous-shoot mode, setting ev higher by +2/3 to 2 depending on how bright the backgorund is, must use at least a 400mm zoom, good distance and steady enough for hand-held shooting, also for more serious shooting, have to be patient to zoom in on one bird, for minutes if not hour to wait for it to fly away or dive into the river.... the action will result in keeper shots. he caught a couple of distant shots of the cranes, the king fisher and another bird... and they left the place when the light got dimmer for any decent shots.

before parting, mr chan said to him, "you want to shoot bird - you must have a bird brain - don't think too much - just aim and shoot with everything set to auto mode."

first pentax outing - 135mm 'sniper' lens

did not have a good sleep last nite - it rained this morning. but already signed up for his first pentax outing. so had to drag himself from bed and made it to mc donald in singapore plaza, just after 8am.... only one shooter was there - whitepaper.... then more came... 19 in all. started shooting at 9am; from sing plaza, cathay cinema, seligie road, lassale college of arts, raffles hotel..... finished at 11.30am. there was a break for tauhuichui along seligie road.

it was fun!

but other saturdays, he has golf, only can attend the outing if it falls on 1st saturday of the month.

this saturday's shooting theme was using the 135mm "sniper" lens to shoot. this is a mid range zoom lens - the advantage of using a longer focal length lens is you can shoot people from a farther distannce, hence minimise the chance of being noticed by the subject - hence can shoot them in their natural state; and let the picture tell a story, vs shooting someone when they are aware of the fact that you are taking their picture, hence stop doing what they are doing....

like the law of physics that says - the act of observing disturbs the object under observation..... as a street photographer, you have to avoid that.
