he took off early yesterday and went for a 2hr jog. he took the circleline and dropped off at serangoon station. and went into pelikat park conector(1.6km), and looped back to brighton cresent, and onto yeo choo kang road, and lor chuan, lee hwan gardens, tai hwan gardens and onto amk ave 1 to catch bus 53 to bishan.

he thot of starting an app for joggers.

glamping

his fren called, but he missed his call. he called him back. he updated him on his project. looked like he had finally made up his mind to go for "glamping" as his theme for his project. glamping is new to him., he said also new to him. it stands for glamourous camping.

what's that?

he still could not figure it out; just a vauge idea of something to do with camping but not the troubles of setting up a tent and dringking from river, shitting in a hole.

he told him to better the design of his projecyt he shld spent a nite at the location to listen to what mother natures wants.

on the road again

Christmas - go jogging before the party starts. drop off in tangling road, go holland road, turns into the 9-hole goldf course next to foreign affair ministry. he rememebers the early days when he first started to take up golf with his boss, they came here to practice. looks like the course still doing well, though it's soggy due to days of rain. he asks a lady where's the exit, the lady points her in her japanese accent, "that way." go into dempsey hills and get lost, always find this place dis-orienting, after they chased out most of the furniture shops and filled it with makan shops. stray into a durian stall in a cudetac carpark. could be the one used to sell their durian next to the entrance to dempsey road. finally find the exit to halland road. trun into farrer road and catch the circle line back to marymount. actually plan to run to pandan area, but the 1-hr jog is good enough for this time, that for a long time, he has laid off jogging on the road.

he has been retired for the last 4 years, and been happy with his new life. he glided into his new routine effortlessly, due mainly to the mutual understanding of him and his spouse. their living motto, do everthing together. his wife is a general and he a manager, she commands and he manages.

got nothing to loose, try clicking on findsingapore.net to retrieve "the king and his men and women" postings in the forum section, which have been lost a couple of years ago, when the website server was reconfigured after encountering virus attack(tha's what pat goh the server master told him). so he was very disappointed that all his satirical posts on singapore politics. what's more strange, all posts appeared under the nick "popsoccerwnm", which when he searched the forum, did not find any such person.

then when he tried again to go to the same page where his posts appeared, it drew a bank "page not found". luckily he already save the page in source mode, so he could re-construct the posts in html form.

tried to ftp into mindhum, but wrong password, managed to log into plesk control panel(http://www.swsoft.com/en/products/plesk/)with a renewed password, to add the marat.html file into the mindhum folder... no need to go thru ftp.

the lows:

1. in sapa trip, the tooth ache conitinued, already for a few  weeks. the right lower molar had a big swell on the gum. he always thot it was the one next to the missing tooth, since he thot this is one tha's most prone to tooth decay. during one  dinner, while he was biting some meat, he felt an acute pain on the molar, then he felt it with his tongue, and there seemed to be some strand of food stuck to the inner side. not until much later he realised he had cracked his molar, not the one next to the missing tooth, rather the inner-most one.

when he came back, the next day 12/11/12 he saw a dentist in balestier road, a lady dentist. she did a cleaning, and examined the teeth and confirmed the crack, and sounded somber and serious. saying "the tooth is infected, take antibiotic first, then come back, to take out the cracked part, and do root cannel. he went back 19/12/12, took out 1/3 of the tooth, the dentist sounded quite blique, "the tooth is now supported by one of teh two roots only, i will try to save it anyway. so you could spread the load to both sides of your molars, instead of the left ones, which already showing signs of severe ground-off of the enamel."

she did the root cannel as well, which was not that painful under local jab.

all this while the dentist did not talk much, did not quite explain to him what she was doing, or going to do, like nike's slogan, just do it. he did ask her a few times, but refrain from asking at other times, since he didn't want to appear ignorant and long-winded.

any way, the tooth was ground down, to a farction of it size, appear like a little square chizzle head, before it was crowned with metal cap, which according to the dentist was better for crack-proof.

for the a few weeks after the crowning, the crowned tooth felt pain whener he took a bite on slightly harder food. only after about a month this feeling subsided, to almost like the feeling for a natural tooth.

teeth maintenance is imperative but people avoid seeing a dentist because they are in a denial mode, and also have the wrong thinking of dentist means excriating pains.

2. a month ago, dbs told him to hold on to olam bond which he bot, after muddy water, the famous short-seller reported they were shorting the company due to it dubious accounting practice and highly geared debt structure. the share and bond prices slided quite abit. olam retorted with its rationale alomst immediately. one weeks after, muddy water came out with a long reported stating the points they viewed as negative to olam. olam came out with it's almost point-point rebutal. but this did not quite help the slidng trend, not until temasek came it to buy more shares from the market and also expressed its attitude to support the rights issue.

woke up at 6. the world still here.  did not notice any change last nite when he went to sleep at 1am. these few days not sleeping well, even at the noon-time naps. perhaps something has got into his head again. he needs some panadol, but couldn't be found at where it used to be; he has finished them up without replenishing.

yesterday noon time, he received a call. she said, "guess what? i got good news."
he said, " i think my prayer has come true."
she said, "her friend has found her engagement ring."
he was reliefed and thank GOD. he prayed for it when she told him she lost her ring in the office and could not find it after many searches. and yet her colleague found it on the floor in his floor(which is different from her office floor). she must have lost it when she was having coffee with him in his floor the day before.

the day before, they had dinner in kudeta for her birthday, 52nd floor up in mbs. contemporary food, good but not that outstanding, though the view up there was fantatstic. $180 for 4. ok lah.

came back from taiwan, visiting his engineers last week(10-12 dec). travel by the 8am zichiang 207 train by the east side, went through hua lian, and huatung zungku, then changed to zichiang 307 from taitung to kaohsiung. very nice place. had dinner in taipei in a teochiew restuarant; food soso only. and dinner at a hotpot restaurant in kaohsiung. food ok, but not HOT enuff; they asked for medium hot, he was conscious his colleagues could not take the hottest one.

the stylistics

the stylistics had one-nite show in the grand theatre, marina bay sands. though it was not full house, the repsonse was not bad. the show started at slightly after eight, instead of later as other concerts did. the 4-some graced the stage in white tux, belted out song after song of their soulful tunes, choreographed in their limited but graceful dance steps.

the atmosphere was not as heated up as in concerts of metal music... just moderate clappings, not so many cat-calls, or sharp whistlings. but they managed to ditch out some old-man humor. the show did have some climaxes when they sang crooned "i'm stone in love with you", "you make me feel brand new" and ended the show with "can't give you anything, but my love"
