seminar in carlton hotel - some how

attended a seminar for the whole day. eat breakfast, teatime, lunch, teatime ...... and felt very sleepy. had a buffet dinner last nite, then today buffet lunch, cannot tahan. must skip dinner tonite.

was pleasantly surpirsed to see her there also. some how, there was a "catch"....

no matter how one pretends to ignore the significance of one's feeling, some how the un-natural side of one's thots shows.....

mc ritchie - seeing the light

he met his fren johny in mc ritchie reservoir. he's a keen runner, or rather, walker, since he has stopped running due to knee problem some time ago. they chatted a bit.

"you come here to take pictures?"

"also take in the fresh air. how 'bout you?"

"i am used to do my morning walk here, started 5am this morning."

"wow, a nite walker in the jungle! no light, how do you see?"

"see? in this jungle, my eyes are in my mind. i can visualise every bump and dip along the track...."

- only when he's not hitting the bottle

sensor cleaning - easy job

went peninsular plaza, EM to see whether can clean the camera sensor. but not open. went to opposite peninsular shopping arcade, stopped by in benphoto. and talked to william. asking around on their second hand leica, M8 for $3700, MP9 $10820. they also sold other second-hand cameras, nikon, canon, pentax, minolta, olympus, contax.... he said, they also clean sensor, for $15. he let him. he did it in 5 minutes, took out the swap(a wetted white square flexible pad on a stick handle) from a packaged sashe, put the camera's mirror "sensor cleaning" position, swapped the pad on the sensor, one direction, from up to down.... before all this, he took a picture of a white paper, to show the shadows of the dust stains, after the cleaning, he did it again to prove the dust stains had gone.

he bot the packet of swaps(6) from him for $25, for the next cleaning, self done.

sony alpha 850(FF) was $2400, and alpha 900(FF) was $2800. considering to get a full-frame camera, sony's has the best deal.... lens choice can get carl-zeiss. the main weak point of this system is native iso only from 200-6400, limited by sensor technology 3 years ago.

went funan to buy ta 16g mem card($39).

monkey - yawns

progressively...... peaks at opening the mouth so big as if a bear roars.....
exhales all the CO2 so fresh air can be drawn into the lungs, the brain has to feel the exchange of air to get the kick.

punggol water way - opening day

took the circle line, changed to north-east line to alight in punggol station, and asked the lady to get to punggol waterway opening ceremony site - a 5 minute walk from the station.

families, lovers and people like him crowded the place - an overhead semicircle gallery facing the water way, and the slopes on the banks of water way.

he took some pcitures, but was not a a strategic location to zoom into the stage, where the pm 's going to deliver his speech later. far far he saw some chaps alighted from some boats, and they said the pm had arrived. he made his exit before the pm speech.

tv - changing time

bot a 3d, 42" led tv for 1299 from the 'lelong' sale. but the other brand, with the same spec cost only 899. but no need to hung up on the price diff, 1299 was still a good price.

it's time to change the tv room's tv, which is already 9 years. it broke down a couple of times and got repaired. still working good. but plasma is not energy efficient, and emits more radiation.

the question is : what to do with the old tv?

people's park center - shitty gold

they went into a small shop in people's park center. there it sold all types of branded second-hand hand-bags. she was looking at a gucci sling bag, originally costing $1660 bot by someone in singapore one year ago, letting go at $980, and the seller willing to give $30 discount. she was almost moved to get it, but decided against it since they would be making a trip to europe soon.

she asked him about the bag.

he said, "ok, if you like it."

in fact, he did not understand this bag business at all..... it's just a piece of printed material, with a very ordinary design.... yet the name demanded a price of thousands of dollars.... who says the world is in deep shit, economically?

btw, the color of the bag looks like shit!

enbloc - the boat sets sail

finally, launching the enloc to the market - after 2 years, with the first failed attempt to collect the 80% signatures. no big issues with members and residents along the way. although there's great egos in every member, but finally senses prevailed.

5 sites up for en bloc development, Faber Garden tops list at $830m
Biggest is Faber Garden at indicative price of $830 million
st 18 oct 2011
By Cheryl Lim
The en bloc game is heating up, with some owners hoping to end the year with a big windfall.

Five developments have been put up for collective sale, including Faber Garden - the biggest of the lot.

Based on the site area of 544,738 sq ft and a plot ratio of 1.6, the development has an indicative price of $830million.

This works out to $988 per sq ft per plot ratio (psf ppr). The property's eventual buyer will also have to fork out an estimated development charge of $31.2 million.

occupy wall street - waiting for a hero

the occupy wall street protest started almost a month ago in new york, has now snowballed across the continents. like tea-party in the u.s. it has all the signs of all but a storm in the tea cup. it's basically a peacefully, leaderless demonstration except, in rome, they did it in a more showy way.

the rich has the lobbyists to work for them, also the government to see them thru, the middle-class has the opportunity to ascend to the rich-and-famous class, the poor, they have everything but wealth, decent-quality lives, opportunities to rise above their ranks.....

they said, the world is not fair, greed is good.

it's very obvious, money is exponentially powerful - the more money you have the more powerful you are, exponentially. that's why it's the ultimate rewards for efforts. but people with money, do not need to put in effort to get more money, all they do is to throw money at the all the opportunities available to them and boom, more money piled up in their banks.....

the protesters protest, but with no specific demands, or specific target. the implied theme is obviously to target the banks and big business corporates. but what exactly the want these people to do? to take less pay, to leverage less on the assets? how to do it?

there draws a blank.

they implicitly says that, they do not know the solution to the problem, but the president of the u.s.a. should know what to do. many people elected mr bama o to take care of business, but he fell very short of the capability and willingness to take on the job.

so who are they banking on now?

there's no hero to lead them - the situation is not ripe yet for a hero to be born to

OCCUPY - WALL - STREET!
they have to first persist thru this coming winter!

the darkies - take out the senses

he was looking for something to munch after dinner. he found some old dark chocolate. with a good mood, he broke two pieces, and made a quick gobble up of these insurmountable temptations. more temptations followed. she asked him whether he would like to have chocolate popsicle. she gave him a big one.....

the next morning - he woke up a zombie. he snored in the nite, but his brain did not for a moment obtain any quality sleep.... all the neurons fired here and there, and everywhere...

the next day, he gobbled up 2 bowls of home-made penang laksa with thick black prawn paste - a burden too much for his tummy, he got tummy flu the next day....

now he still reeled from the double-whammies.

- everybody has his forbidden apple, just for him to eat.

tree top walk - no challenge

still with the effect of a tummy flu; very weak, very tired and very down....
he dragged himself to the tree-top walk, planning to take some pictures
of thejungle with misty beams of sunlight. but he did not find any mist
nor any beams that's diffused with mist, perhaps due to the dry weather
of these last few days.

he went into the jungle around 6.30am, with the moon still hanging quite high in the sky.

he saw the first couple of gals entering the track. then more and more people came. he heard a lot of chirpings, kookooings and crackings, but the owners of these sounds were all hidden in leaves and brunches. he saw a couple of squirrels jumping from tree to tree. he managed to get a not-so-decent focus on one. this biggy was that frenly, he had to admit. however with the bright sunshine, the forest canopy was litted in golden hues, a loud awaking for the drooping soul.

he reached the entrance of the tree-top walk at slightly over 83.0am, which was the opening time for weekends. he greeted the sole guard of the entrance.

"good morning."

"good morning."

"today good weather."

"ya."

"can i go down from the ladder to the bottom of the bridge?"

"cannot, why you want to go down there?"

"to take pictures of the hanging bridge."

"cannot, dangerous."

danger is when you break the official instructions - he recalled the guard in the "money-not-enuff" movie where his cliche was - law by law.

he did not challenge his advice - he's physically and mentally weak to do so, this morning.

- just to complete the journey was a big enuff challenge for this super-weakling!
