city circuit F1 - winning ritual

alonso was interviewed by the flying dutch man, "what's your ritual before the race?"

"i put on my left sock first, i make sure that i jump into the car from the left side, i greet people with my left hand.... everything do with the left. if i will keep doing it as long as i continue to perform well.... until one day, i hit my bad moment, then i will change everything to the right...."

- so ritual is something that you do to ensure a winning streak. and prayer is something you do when you don't trust anymore any rituals....

for the last two day, rain added some fun to the practice and qualifying rounds. but on the big day, the weather was sunny and dry. the place began to fill up after 5pm, mostly came by mrt.

the stage was in the padang. went there to get the strip for mariah carey gig. and had a cool beer. a lot of ang mohs; as if the event was held specially for them. car racing is still very much a Westerners' game.

hamilton after being caught up by webber, was quite pissed, so he tried to over him, but did not do a clean job, with his wheel bumped into webber front wheel and his car got damaged and his chance of getting any point in this race evaporated in to marina bay's thin air. the oz and spaniard's supported were exhilarated, throwing their hands to celebrate.

the race was very tight between alonso and vettel towards the end, but the circuit was too tight for vettel to try enterprising manoeuvre, and ended up with alonso who was in pole position taking the title.

mariah carey concert - a quite plump, juicy and flirty lady shaking her flappy body on stage, trying her best to show her sexiness.... amid that tinge of weariness from the long journey from the u.s. of A. - paper said she's 4-month pregnant - bless her and the baby in her womb.

"today my birthday ma."
"oh...."
"i thot your birthday is next month?"
"man is like that, always don't remember things that are important to them."
"who said that?"
"well... only if you are his latest craze."

mid autumn - tradition of love

cool nite,
cloudy,
after the rain

the moon

cool light
hazy,
after the moon cake party

if tradition has any value
the kids don't know
only
fun does the talking.....

foodchain - pixel trick

the compound eye of an insect, though consisted of many little eyes, does not see well, but like the small sensors in a dslr camera(which uses them for auto focusing), are used for detection of flashes and movements.

why an insect prioritizes movement and flashes of light detection above clear images of the objects?

it's for survival, of course.

they have to react fast when predators approach, so instead of making clearly sure what's approaching, as long as they detect movement, they react and fly away. to focus in the subject to make it clear takes longer time than to register that the subject is moving or approaching. and hence it's logical to enhance the movement detect mechinanism many folds.

evolutionarily, most of the insects are small creatures, so whatever that moves must be very likely bigger than them and on top of them in the food chain.

story - never ending?

"tell me a story, if you care."

the auntie, nodded her head, then slowly she said,"once upon a time....."

people were peaceful, just busying themselves to forage for food and building huts for shelters and weaving threads into clothes, and taming wild animals for food, helping out the work and carrying the loads.

when generations went by, small families gathered in a place to form a clan. different clans related to another with some common ancestors joined, and became a village. villages needed a common place to trade, there a town grew up. then some towns which were extraordinarily endowed(some with their locations, near river, near sea, some with their varieties of products, some with their people who were very innovative and productive)expanded in areas, populations and activities and became cities.......

human population grew, and the earth was busy with all sorts human activities. more and more resources were consumed and more and more resources were polluted. until one day, human reached the edge of the cliff - some essential resources already depleted or polluted to such an extend that it's no longer feasible to sustain the population of the earth as a whole.

and the moon, mars expedition teams were not yet ready for any sustainable mission to these alien places to replenish what had been depleted on earth.

a hero stood up, "only wars can fix the resource allocation problem. see, we have not been to wars for as long as i could remember. now how to engage one?"

the hero's assistance said, "we divide ourselves into different nations, and let one kill the other's people....."

so divided they stood. and killing and being killed they went ahead.....

the hero emerged as superhero after the war, though, with less people, the problem of resource allocation was kind of mitigated, it persisted as the most acute issue to be tackled.

the superhero stood up, "let's gathered all our resources and put our people on the moon, on mars on venus.... to bring back the things we need here."

and so the interplanetary resource exploitation teams were formed, and soon, the earth had its prosperity regained, and more so than ever.

soon enough all the exploitable planets had their resources exploited...... then inter-stella journeys took off.... and the quest continued...

until one day, the superhero's great^10 grandson, the super^10 hero, asked, "do you remember how far we have gone in the search for new resources?"

and the yotta-to-the-power-of-yotta-byte machine answered, "not enough memory to compute."

white - black

the white and black - sometimes that's how we see things. black always gives a gloomy feeling, tells something not upright. whereas white signifies light, upbeatness and purity. that's when something is white or black. but how about if something that's not black or white but been seen in a black and then white background? will that have any bearing on the perception of the observer? you go figure.

clear background has that effect on the subject....

the dark back ground gives the same subject a kind of .....

but most of the time, we see things in the shades between black and white. sometimes in the middle of the these two extremes. good or bad?
