story - never ending?

"tell me a story, if you care."

the auntie, nodded her head, then slowly she said,"once upon a time....."

people were peaceful, just busying themselves to forage for food and building huts for shelters and weaving threads into clothes, and taming wild animals for food, helping out the work and carrying the loads.

when generations went by, small families gathered in a place to form a clan. different clans related to another with some common ancestors joined, and became a village. villages needed a common place to trade, there a town grew up. then some towns which were extraordinarily endowed(some with their locations, near river, near sea, some with their varieties of products, some with their people who were very innovative and productive)expanded in areas, populations and activities and became cities.......

human population grew, and the earth was busy with all sorts human activities. more and more resources were consumed and more and more resources were polluted. until one day, human reached the edge of the cliff - some essential resources already depleted or polluted to such an extend that it's no longer feasible to sustain the population of the earth as a whole.

and the moon, mars expedition teams were not yet ready for any sustainable mission to these alien places to replenish what had been depleted on earth.

a hero stood up, "only wars can fix the resource allocation problem. see, we have not been to wars for as long as i could remember. now how to engage one?"

the hero's assistance said, "we divide ourselves into different nations, and let one kill the other's people....."

so divided they stood. and killing and being killed they went ahead.....

the hero emerged as superhero after the war, though, with less people, the problem of resource allocation was kind of mitigated, it persisted as the most acute issue to be tackled.

the superhero stood up, "let's gathered all our resources and put our people on the moon, on mars on venus.... to bring back the things we need here."

and so the interplanetary resource exploitation teams were formed, and soon, the earth had its prosperity regained, and more so than ever.

soon enough all the exploitable planets had their resources exploited...... then inter-stella journeys took off.... and the quest continued...

until one day, the superhero's great^10 grandson, the super^10 hero, asked, "do you remember how far we have gone in the search for new resources?"

and the yotta-to-the-power-of-yotta-byte machine answered, "not enough memory to compute."
