bumblebee - a bungle?

there, right in his face, there's this big, plump and menacingly buzzing bumblebee. he had to macro it since the zoom-end of his lens did not work due to some setting issue, he guessed; the shuttle would not release, no matter how he pressed on it.

the few shots, somehow the viewing field shifted quite a bit, he could only capture partial bee, though the bee stayed on the flowers for a reasonably long time for any shooter who has a week's experience in shooting. also the flash was off. then the bee buzzed around, it stopped again. this time on the flowers to his left. he loaded his flash and moved into focus, and snap, snap snap.... a few shots in succession. and the bee went about buzzing again somewhere.

alas, when he checked the shots, they were much over-exposed.... this time he forgot to closed down the aperture. when he had the aperture rightly set, the bee came back..... stopping on the flowers 15 feet away. he got himself near enough to pull the shutter... snap, then snap again, and again.... 2 of the shots came out reasonably good, but not good enough for the any magazine cover; did not catch the frontal or side view with a vivid emphasis on the eyes..... failure?

no. that's how life is - take whatever you got and move on.

And BE THANKFUL.
