he received a call at 6.20pm. he totally forgot about his appointment with shing, a long-time-no-see taiwan former customer, when he was working in science park, hsinchu. shing came to singapore with his wife, staying at the marina sands.
he hurried his way to the hotel. met up with them at 7pm, and had dinner at the chinese resataurent of the hotel. and went up the 57th floor sky park to take in the nite view of the city.
shing is now boss of 3 companies, after he left his former company where they knew each other, he joined another company and worked for two years, then worked in a trading company for anotehr 2 more years, left that company and set up his own trading company, with the support of the japanese supplier. his two kids are now in the u.s., in 11, 12 th grades.
his wife said, "wow, after so many years, when shing called you up for a meet up, didn't you suspect of something, like him asking for a loan?"
"oh.... loan? frankly speaking i was quite surprised for you to pay meet up with me after so many years. not many people would try to do so. i wld not. why? simple, frensship is like a loan, nobody like to give but it's hard to ask for one also."
