the day began naively as any trip. they gathered in newton hawker center at 7am. 11(or 10) of them joined the climb. it rained on teh journey. they arrived at tun hamida garden for breakfast at 8.30am. then continued on to reach the the LIM coffeshop near gunung lambak, at 10.30am. half-boiled eggs and drinks were provided by the tour. after that, the bus ascended into the foothill of gunung lambak. started the climb at 11.30am. the track in the beginning was gentle and "well-paved"; for the first hour until they reached a resting point. from there onwards, it was steep, rugged, slippery, eroded tracks, most of which helped by clinging on to ropes secured around trees on the sides. they reached the top at around 2pm. from the summit, there's a partial view of kluang. they had their tea-time of soft-drink, and crackers, energy bars brought by the leader, under a shade, next to the transmission tower. a big ape, perching on the tree near to the shade took notice of them, and on a fe occasion showing aggreesive gesture with mouth wide open, showing his fangs, and a mouthful of teeth, signifying that they were enchroaching its territory.

a bout of diarrhea sudden hit him. and he found a secluded place to let go.

when they left the summit at, the big ape(pig-tailed macquet)hopped to a tree nearest to the shade and started munching the big nangka. surely they were too near its favarite haunt for his comfort. the descend was not easy either, though not using the same track as that of the ascend. the constant jerking of the knees when landing on descending steps softened the leg muscles, and stressed knee caps amid danger of loosing one's foothold.

after an hour of descend, they stopped to decide whether to make the ascend for another peak. though some were already very shacked, majority wento for it, and all followed. it was another hour of tough climb, vefore they reached the second summit which was lower. it was a vacant ground surronded by jungle as if it was just any flat area in the jungle.

they did not stay long up there, made their descend at... had furits on-the-leader at the foothill.headed for dinner in a drogon-fruit farm in yongpeng.

back to singapore at 9.30pm
