stamp - duty

gahmen raised the stamp duty for foreigners and pr. stock market went down 50+ points.

looks like the gahmen is serious about giving singaporeans a good deal, curbing on immigration, tightening up pr and work pass/permit approvals, and now hitting hard on housing purchases.

but to a lot of other singaporeans, with houses as investment, they may have to take the hit as well. the housing market will be slow down. but as long as the stock market holds up, housing price will stay.

the gahmen not only act as rubber stamp on many issues dictated by the ruling party, it has a duty to run the country in a sustainable and efficient way for the singaporeans.
