china town - year of the GUYAHJSKKEOEJSJSHAJJSKKEKLLL

the ground was wet, people crowded - the buzz had arrived in china town. nuna new year here soon.

the dragon had reared its head in eu tong seng road, everybody expecting the dragon year will produce more babies. so much so the ones who planned to do so, took a step back, and thot, "if we have a baby this year, it would be to much competition for her on education, jobs....better delay for one more year." so hipe of the dragon year by the media has a very bad damping effect on the birth rate.

he bot goose-liver sausage, $6 for 2 pieces, a piece of chinese bacon for $10. good stuff for clay-pot rice.

go back to dragon year baby again. what makes a dragon baby better than say a tiger baby?

the zodiac is fair to have all animals with good and bad points, so if you expect to just get all the good but avoid the bad point, then the best is to be born in the year of the:

GUYAHJSKKEOEJSJSHAJJSKKEKLLL

what's that? is there such an animal?

you are right - NO SUCH ANIMAL!

HSR - try it

HSR - a high-speed rail system that takes travellers between Taipei and Kaohsiung has many activities, scenes, smells and colors; in the station, inside or outside the train.

the fragrance of tea eggs, the orderliness of the queues, the cosiness of the countryside, the courteousness of the people.... all made memorable impressions on his journeys.

on one of his journey, he sat on the wrong seat, and the lady said, "Mr, what seat number are you holding?"

"oh.... sorry..." so he moved from window seat to the isle seat.

"oh, you can remain at the window seat, since you are taking pictures."

"oh... no, thanks. i hv done taking pictures outside, now i wld like to take some inside." in fact, with a beautiful lady sitting beside, who wants to waste any time taking any pictures, inside or outside?

shiling nite market - big biscuit, small biscuit

somebody said, shiling nite market had shifted.

he was curious to find out. he took a cab, and it stopped at the same old place where the nite market used to be. and the nite market was still at the same place... people, goods, shouts, the place was as buzzling as anytime. only when he wondered into one of the side streets, he was pleasantly surprised that he was actually entering into the so called NEW nite market. shiling nite market had not shifted, but a new sheltered block with 300 stalls had been built next to the market. and under this building, a food court serving the local street food catered for foodies.

he was tempted by the local food like oyster misua, beef noodle, sausages, love-jade jelly... but he was restraint to dig into any by his still-full tummy. only when he saw some stalls selling small biscuits wrapped in big biscuits, he queued up to try one. by the look of it, the so-called biscuit was like curry puff, much with the skin looked much crispier. and he was wondering how did they wrap the small biscuit into the big one.

wonder no more - they were actually crushing the small crispy biscuit and wrapping it with a wrapper, like that for popiah, but much thicker. and there's no filling in the small biscuits, all carbo-fried flour, sprinkled with black pepper or peanut as choice.

it was disappointing treat!
