vote tally
Philippines election - a good thing or bad, it has to come and go. And bless this country with a lot of sensible decisions and actions and also with good elements and nature's tender loving care.
a total of 50 million filipinos were eligible for voting which opened at 7am and closed at 6pm; a total of 17888 posts were up for grab
They spotted a polling station from their studio apartment. They went down and walked a distance of 500m and there the narrow street was filled with people and hawkers doing brisk business of serving the voters and many candidates' helpers distributing sample election forms with their candidates' names highlighted as a last minute campaign.
the queue in this polling station was not that long, the atmosphere was fiesta-like. but in some other polling stations was incredibly long, taking hours to get the votes cast.
they were supposed to go south that morning, had to wait until the driver cast his vote, who had waited from 7am to 10am.
along their journey, they saw people and tricycles, jeepneys and vendors gathered around the polling station which normally were some public places like schools, or municipalities. all dealings were peaceful across the whole journey. all in all, this election was a peaceful one, losing a handful of lives in some skirmishes. a good omen ushering in a new era for filipino politics.
