They departed manila at 10am, and headed to the south super highway(part of SLEX - south luzon express), and had lunch at 12.30pm some where before sariaya; he had pancit bihon. And reached sariaya just after 1pm. And romi met them opposite the church and guided them for a bumpy and rough ride to the mango plantation.
It's a 2 hc + 5 hc + 4 hc + 7.4 hc plantation, planted with kelabau mango trees.
the owner, a certain filipino who lives in the u.s. wanted to sell it. they went to check it out.
romi is the care taker of this plantation. he told them whatever they wanted to know about mangoes, running the plantation, the problems...... he told the worker to pluck some green mangoes for them before they left the plantation.
they wanted to see more of quezon province, romi showed them a beach resort nearby. but they didn't like the black sand so they send romi back home, in sariaya. his house front was a grocery stall(sara-sari stall). they had ice-scream from the shop. he invited them in for tea. before they left his place, he gave them another basket of ripe mangoes. for the next few days, they had mango in their breakfast, lunch and dinner.
he said, "they said, man goes where woman goes, but i said, young man, you should go where no man goes.... that's a real man!"
