punngol promenade riverside walk - water
raining big did not stop him from landing on the punggol promenade riverside walk along the serangoon river.
this area changed so much he could hardly recall how it looked like 3 months ago, sometime he visited this area.
he got down from riviera lrt station, and walked toward a temple, and found a way to the riverside walk through the small cluster of new eating shops, just near the river.
not many people came. maybe, it was still drizzling. then the rain stopped. more people. he went to the other side of the river, across a new bridge in red. there was the lorong halus wetland. it used to be a big patch of wilderness whenever he viewed to the left when he was travelling to the airport on the tpe, near lorong halus. now it was already a nicely manicured grassland.
it was getting dark. he saw a familiar face. he stopped an greeted him, 'hi,.... you are..."
"i'm howard...."
oh yap... his old colleague.
he said he came here alone, since his wife was in malaysia looking after her parents, and he lived around the area.
"you are lucky, there's some big water park projects around here....."
"oh ya.... i like that. water everywhere, we must not only desalinate it for consumption, also disseminate its usefulness as a source for recreation."
"water is what singapore should value since it's an island state."
"but we must also be aware of global warming, sea level rising that may wipe singapore out from the map...."
sinkapool!
