jingjiang palace - a rare find

the jingjiang palace belongs to the ming prince who was bestowed the province of guangxi as his subject territory.

dusiufeng(solitary mountain)which is inside the palace compound has the most fortunate fengshui in the whole of the province.

you can find the dragon's pulse under dusiufeng, in tunnels which house all the 60 taisui's.

and on the "reading rock" you can find the carving of the poem by 王正功 where the phrase "桂林山水甲天下" originated. this was a rare find some years back, which settled the controversy of who was the original author of this famous phrase. the whole poem reads:

桂林山水甲天下,玉碧罗青意可参。
  士气未饶军气振,文场端似战场酣。
  九关虎豹看劲敌,万里鲲鹏伫剧谈。
  老眼摩挲顿增爽,诸君端是斗之南。

also you can find the scholaristic examination hall in the palace which could hold 5000 students, sitting for the province exam.

as the saying goes:

十年窗下無人問
一舉成名天下知

he asked one of the tour members, "why you came alone, not with your wife?"

he said, "she stayed back home to teach our son. this year he will sit for his PSLE exam."

so the saying also goes:

kids' exam, parents' worries
parents' worries, kids' exempt....
