drifting along the yulong river is a nice pastime. watching the cormorants catching fish is entertaining. it's so simple, yet it takes the ingenuity of boatman to train the birds, and the birds after training, takes the deal with no animosity, though they would very much want to swallow the fat fishes they have caught, but they nevertheless let them out for small a reward.
just like training a monkey to plug coconuts - the birds have to work for their meals.
working for people for a living is always not what man is born for, definitely not what the cormorants are born for.
