casino and the old man

'bimbo' city has a food republic, funny isn't it? how can a 'country' be in 'city'?

he had 'gohiang' in the food republic, as breakfast. then he went over to the resorts world in sentosa.

he did not enter the casino or the universal studio. he just moved around the area. he met an old man, with his camera, taking pictures around, and tourists also asked him to take pictures for them. marathon man asked him, "are you a photographer?"

"no. just look around."

"you didn't go into the casino?"

"me? i went already, yesterday."

"so, did you gamble?"

"yes..... in a sense, but not in the normal sense."

"what do you mean?"

"i was meeting a fren who's from taiwan.... he owned part of the 富春山居图. and i owned the other part. i wanted him to sell me his part. but he loved it very much, he wanted me to sell mine to him. so to determine whether who should have both parts, we decided to bet on it in the casino. we play BIG/small.... he put BIG and i bet on small... "

"and...."

"and i won..."

"sounds like something in the classic kungfu story. what's so good about the painting?"

"young man, the artist was one of china's best, living in the yuan - mongolian dynasty, named 黄公望(huang gung wang). he painted it when he was more than 80 years old, as a gift to his fren 无用师(wu yung shi). people loved this painting so much, one of the collector's son who owned it wanted it to be burnt as his burial goods, but was saved at the nick of time, by his relatives. nevertheless it was damaged by the fire and torn into two. one piece, the big one is now in taiwan museum, the other smaller piece is in china zhejiang museum.... and they said, when the two pieces come together it would be the day the two china's become one...."

"but you said, you have both of them now...."

"yes... my ones are counterfeit.... but still very valuable, because they're very good counterfeit."

- will the two china's fate be decided by casting the dice on the table of a casino?
