a new block in town
bugis street area is a very busy area. people, shops, vendors.....
as usual, he brot a cup $1 fruit juice. checked out the durian stalls.... nowaways the so-called sultan durian, is apparently some mix of the thai strain, big, sparsely-space, flat thorns, pale green skin.... no fragrance, thick meat, no taste, woody bite - bottom-line : NO, NO.
he also had his $1 mint ice-scream. then he had his dinner at the sim-lim square food court - bakchohmee....
the place around burlington square has changed quite a lot, within these few years. he noticed there's a big, black, imposing building behind burlington square. it was lassale college of the arts. and under the white canvass-sail roof, 6 crooked buildings elegantly laid out to form the campus.
along selegie road, 'wilkie edge' is another artistically designed shopping mall+hotel+apartment building in town.
he hopped into a shop where they were having singapore sale. some people were crowding around a bucketful of towels where the sign said, "buy 3 get 1 free".
and there was a commotion there. he went near to check it out....
"hey..... you bot four, we gave free one..... so why you you said, you bot 4, you should get 4 free?" the saleslady was quite annoyed by the customer who insisted she bot 4 pieces of towel, she should get 4 free.
"you see, i bot the white, the red, the blue and the yellow. so, for the white, the red and the blue, i bot, i should get 1 free towel. then for the white, the red and the yellow, i bot i should get another free one. then for the white, the blue and the yellow i bot, i should have another free towel.... and lastly for the red, the blue and the yellow i bot, i should get one more free towel.... so all together i should get 4 free towels....."
- clever ones - what do you think?
