they had lunch in the famous lou-wong chicken and bean-sprout restaurant. the pick this one instead of the neighboring onn-kee because there were diners in lou-wong. they ordered a chicken, a plate of bean sprout, a plate of chicken feet and some dumpling soup. but the food turned out to be so-so. the chicken was not that tender, the bean spring was ok. the chicken feet was lack of meat. and the soup of the dumpling was a bit weird.
they drove on south of ipoh. just outside ipoh they made stops over in two more temples, and also bought the famous tambun pomeloes along the way before entering into the highway.they passed by gopeng, and bought chicken in a biscuit at kampar and turned back to ipoh. before they reached town, they pullover to check the pasar malam out.
they checked into lucky hotel in ipoh city. when he opened the window to air the room, extraordinary loud volume of bird chirps were heard from the surroundings. swifts flying about in and out of some buildings. then he realised the bird calls were just recorded sound tracks, which the clever entrepreneurs used to lure the swifts into the "bird houses" for their invaluable bird nests.
they went out to the same place where they had lunch for dinner. dinner was all noodle affair - bit-fat noodle, rat-tail clay-pot noodle and smoothy-egg horfun.... a meal that was ruined not by the mediocre rat-tail noodles, but by some big-fat rats making their presence felt in the ditches under the bright street lights.
there was a pub at the ground floor of the hotel with powerful bass which could be heard and felt in their room. it was quite annoying. he complaint to the counter-staff who would want to do anything about it.
instead of furthering their complain, with the tempo of the music, they had a fierce bout of horizontal lambada.....
