reached taiping at 6.19pm. checked into the panorama hotel, next to the taiping clock tower. they had dinner in the old hawker centre. had a good and worthwhile spa-body-massage-foot-massage next to the hotel for RM90.
next morning, ate the cameron apple, and love fruit brought from camero. had charkuoyteow as breakfast - spicy, with a lot of tougei and grass.... just like the penang one.
then they headed for taiping lake garden. take a walk there until 12 noon.
the next day, after breakfast, taiping lake garden was their destination. wondered about the garden, mesmerised by the vast extend of waterscape of the place and the matured plant cultures of the garden. lotus and water lily flowers blossomed in the ponds, horn bills make the characteristic low-pitch calls, dragon flies flipping their wings in flight, people taking their off-day seriously to enjoy immerse themselves in the wonderland that's so near the city.
then it's time to take the jeep ride up bukit larut. the ride was an eye-opened and heart-stopper, with zigzag so sharp and steep, you wonder how the driver was able to take them like they were driving in the city.
bukit larut(1036m) summited with a couple of cafe's and a very nicely surroundings, a very nice view of taiping city.
they spent 1.5 hours in the summit, walking, taking pictures and sipping drinks in the cafe. the return journey was more exhilarating, with driver's foot stepping only the breaks, maneuvering sharp down-hill zigzags with precise timing and turning of the wheels.
they reached penang at 4pm.
