the substation - have camera will shoot

the master, a stout, 37yr-old, bespectacled, slightly bearded-mustached young man, with a lot of travelling experience and highly qualified background in dealing with camera and the digital imaging business.

he envied him for his wife. not that she's that beautiful; in fact, to any normal eyes she just a plain short, plump lady. but for her stnding beside him, as a very efficient helper, and extrapolatory an understanding wife.

the stude, a rookie in photography, could have done better if he had gotten himself better equipment. that's was his thinking before he joined the class. now after seeing what an ordinary, non-canikon, cheap entry-camera, with a age-old, non-desired, simple lens could do, he was brain-washed.

the landscape lesson last week was not that much of benefit. but the macro class did open up the eyes of this lazy, shortcut-seeking, opportunistic, un-imaginative mind.

they were at the singapore river for some landscape takes last week, and this weekend they were down the botanic garden.

he was surprised that there were quite some macros to do in this well-landscaped shooting location, when they started the class at the little pond near the main entrance. but when they proceeded further in, it was not that easy to find any suitable living subjects to shoot. they turned over many leafs, none turned out any bugs the master used to see. they circled the lotus pond, and did not find a good spot to shoot until they stopped at where the amphitheatre was. he shot some flowers with a little black wasp, some dragon flies, damsel flies....

overall, his effort did not produce any punchy shot, though it was a good morning exercise(physically and much more mentally, since he did not had a good sleep last nite). it was very hard for this anxious, impatient stude to use a tripod, particularly under windy, and un-reachably-low-height conditions.

they went for lunch in funan center. and continued the class in THE SUBSTATION at 2pm. went thru what he did last week and this morning. it was a useful class in that he learned some very useful photoshop editing techniques.

they parted at 4pm after a soul-wrecking, physically exhausting day. he had a lot of respect for a self-made youndg, and artistically inclined, well-displined entrepreneur.
