he heard about love river(爱河) so often. the earliest, perhaps 25 years ago, it was notoriously famous for its black sewage flow and its unbearable stench. but now the river has been cleaned up and reclaimed.
he took a walk from his hotel to the riverside.
it was a god morning. people started their workday, school day, and some took their morning walk, had their morning tea, got their morning exercise along the banks of the river.
he was sitting next to a senior couple sitting on the curve bench.
the lady asked, "why it was called love river?"
the man said, "there was company called love river boat company which started a boat hiring business in 1948 and transformed the area into a romantic dating spot for lovers."
"hmmm.... we did have a lot of good time here."
"yes indeed. and for sometime not many years ago, we also hated to come here."
"now..... the river is turning over a new leaf.... meanwhile we are entering our sunset years...."
"yes indeed. things come and go, for the next life, would you be still my lover?"
"like a river...... love is flowing into time immemorial as long as the source is there..... and for us,the source is the love river that has seen its bright days again."
