tonite - taipei without you

the mrt is still full of passengers. there's a lot of young people using the mrt. moving about in taipei, you would find yourself like in tokyo. but here everybody takes their queue behind one another. they also move to the right when using the escalator. the young people's sense of fashion tail that of japan, the gals in long tight pants or sock-pants, boots, half-body-length overcoat with a shawl round the neck, hair to the shoulder, very lightly touched-up on the face.... boys with tight pants, sharp black leather shoes or snickers... tight shirt or t's....

it's drizzling. and 9 deg c outside. the chinese new year still not yet finished, but the new year atmosphere is overpowered by valentine from the way the shops dressed up their facades.

many years ago, he found himself lost in taipei city, with a pair of sisters, in a tour group. so they asked people how to go back to their hotel.

at the tour, he came to know the elder sister. and befriended her. time passed by, nothing much happened. he went away. after many letters, nothing much happened still. he gave up and left the red-dot.

after some years, he came back to the red-dot . one day, he saw her in a shopping centre, walking alone, with a pregnant tummy. she did not seem to see him. he just let it be.

tonite when he sees the neon lights in the streets of taipei, he remembers. that nite in taipei tour, they were so attracted by the neon lights, they lost their way back to the hotel.

but tonite, taipei without you - he's lost, not....
