upp jurong rd - go karting

mr chan, "the new go kart can cost from $12k to $20k. monthly storage $150, maintenance $300/mth, a day-section circuit is $50, tire $300/set, lasting for 3 months, the engine needs an overhaul once a year, costing $500."

"are you a car racer?"

"i was in the 60's. i was born 1946. then go karting was just introduced to the world in 1956, but there's no such thing in singapore. we bot the engines and parts and assembled them oursleves. then the engines were the mcculloch's chain-saw engine, and west bend's lawn-mower engines which we adapted for go karting."

"how many circuits are there in singapore?"

"only one. this one is not internationally spec'ed, it's only 750m long. the standrad circuit shld be 1000m."

- this 65-yr-old guy doesn't look his age - he looks much younger. go karting must have something to do with it.
