choachukang to woodlands - a track without rail

they already started the dismantling - that's for real!

as he's approching the woodlands checkpoint, he was abruptly stopped by a barricade, with warning signs. that's the end of the rail walk for the woodlands end. he had to crawl out of the place, thru a hole cut into the fence, into a dirt road onto the woodlands road, next to global foundry. this shabby finish did not diminish the sense of accomplishment he set out to achieve for the past couple of weeks, that's he's going to track the whole length of the ktm rail track. he had done it all except the part from bukit timah to rail-mall, which he planned to do the following week.

he started today's trekking from choachukang, resuming from the point he left off yesterday. the rustling sound underneath every step, the unevenness of the pebble surface, the largely monotonous greenery along the track, the sunny blue sky, the weight of the camera gears on his shoulder .... all the familiarities had made the journey so uninteresting, even the few stops he made for picture taking did not excite him anything more than the drinking a cup of warm water after an extraneous exercise did. and all these monotonousness made him ponder on the meaning of this mission. like life, who sets his mission? does he have one to begin with? it seems that mission is etched into the genes. through the years he has experienced a lot, but nothing much was done about his mission if any.

looks like finally he will be exiting life through that proverbial dog-hole, still thinking that he has achieved a lot?

life is after all just like a track without rail - there seems to be some direction, but it won't carry your train of thot.
