had lunch with the vendor's team in holiday inn, cavnagh road. chosen the place for its durian pudding. well, not as good though, not that chilled, not that tense in taste, not that fresh.
the question is: is there any FRESHLY tasted durian vs stale one?
stale durian is one that goes awry, sourly, like any sugar that's gone into fermentation.
the vp did not come, since he's no longer taking charge of his team, heading to the QA team, just one day before the announcement was made, much to his own surprise. he was forcefully removed from his post and supplanted into another department which he do not have much experience in.
there was a big shuffle in that company just recently. the #2 man's head rolled, and a few top-level executives had their roles diminished, new heads brot in.....
the planned IPO got delayed.....
but the big head remained - for the lucky start that he had been to the company so far as he stepped into the company for the last 10 years - for apparently not so much of his effort, the investors, a bunch of his frens let him run the company after he ran out of a job when he was replaced in his previous company. and he edged out the founders of the company, still hoping for an IPO, but missed it due to the year 2000 crash.
and within a couple years, when things turned up, the company got it's IPO, and everyone was happy. then after a few more years, the rich bankers took it private, and everybody was happy because they paid a premium for it.....
now they wanted to throw it to the market again. but this time, it hit a snag - the company softened.....
and things need to change.
but the lucky star remained untouched!
- each has his star, some lucky, some not so???
