raffles range to railmall - biodiversity
along the sides of the track, there's a lot of tall grass, short and long bushes, and various other plants, and also in some stretches, there's some water pondings in some sort of clogged drains, making very good habitats for many types of insect. the other sections of the railway track seemed not to have so much activities from the insects.
he caught a very good view of a very colorful butterfly, not so much of his effort. when he was standing still taking picture of a dragonfly..... and when he was waiting for it to settle on something..... some big and beautiful butterfly landed on some leaves and stayed there motionless for about a minute.... he had a field tme of snapping.
the thing about taking insect pictures : act like one - you see, insect like bees, fies, and butterflies hop from flower to flower to gather nectar and pollen, many flowers indeed, because most of the flowers already harvested by some earlier "birds", some not completely sucked dry.... so they have to be very patient in dropping into every flower on their path.... same for an insect photographer, you have to zoom your camera onto whatever that flies, hops, darts from place to place, and also open your eyes wide for those that land on the plant.... snap, snap, snap..... you will get some winners at the end of the day!
