san juan city, batangas - birds
Arrived at san juan city centre at around 5pm, after a 3-hr drive from manila. walked around the shops and market area. most shops were pulling down their doors, closing out for the day. They did their foot spa, pedicure and manicure in a shop on the 2nd floor of the market.
While waiting for the ladies to do their manicure, he was taken in by the hoard of swifts that gathered in the cross section of the two main road in the city. Many perched on the overhead cables and wires, some swooped around the area in flocks, some jostling for a place to rest on the wire, making squeaky calls.
$$$ clang in his mind - are these swallows that build edible bird nests?
