woke up before 5am, the PE recount had completed and tony won by a whisker against cheng bok. jee say is third, while kin lian lost his deposit of $48,000.
history was made in a sense this was the REAL election, unlike previous ones, although mr ong also had to contest the election, there's not so much campaign and huha's...
history would be made again if cheng bok won, instead, the guy picked by pap did get the support, although it's not overwhelming. in fact, the president elect does not have the mandate to represent the people, since the percentage votes he got, only 35.19%. but a rule is a rule. since the the rule did not say have to do another round of election between the two candidates who garner the two highest votes, if no candidate gets more than 50%.
so will there be any more history to be made with the new president?
