Sunrise is always a momentous kind of thingie; the sky changes every second, and before you could adjust your camera for the lighting, zoom distance, angle... You have to deal with the next scene. And before you have taken any winner shot, the sun has already risen up and wipes out all traces of the rising moments.
Whereas sunset presents the golden hour, where things are transformed from their day-light, stale appearances to the ever-so-intensely-colored, highly-contrasted, silhouettes. Though it lasts for an hour or so, the intensity, the contrast, the colors change every minute...
