sengkang - riverside park
happy are the people living in sengkang, punggol and seletar hill. they can enjoy the best park in singapore at their convenience - the latest park in town, the riverside park. in fact, the park is not just a patch of continuous land, it consists of 3 or 4 pieces of land cricrossed by roads. there's a sports complex in the midst of it, the lrt runs thru it, the punggol river from which the park's name is derived has graced the park tremenously. the newly paved pcn(park connector network)is the attraction for walkers, joggers, cyclists, and serious runners. after 7.30pm, the place is almost deserted, except for a few nocturenal joggers, cyclists doing their under the moonlight. it's a totally differently world from just 1 hours ago; the nite ochestra is in its fullswing with the sounds from frogs, insects, and other creepy-crawlies; in the absence of traffic noise, accentuated by the soul amplifier, they sound like msuic from heaven. kampung buangkok, the LAST kampung in singapore surely makes the nite stroll along the river an added mystigue; as if thrown back to the times of the 60's when things were very much left on their own.
everything in this island is fighting hard to be the 1ST, the last thing people want is the LAST..... but without the last - everything will not last, including all the firsts.....
