Prague city tour in the morning. Eva the guide does her duty like a mother hen leading her chicks on a food hunt, making thru the prague castle and its surrounding buildings in a pace left little time for proper picture taking.
The sun comes out, tho the air is still as cold as ever, but the mood is heightened. Eva says yesterday, there's no vendors hawking their wares and skills along the famous charles bridge because it snowed the whole day. But today, they are lining up along the two sides. they cross the bridge to the other side of the vltava river, for the clock tower and the Christmas market.
The cold has set in after about a week of snowy experience, the lungs feel the effect the most, coughing, nose running and throat sore and voice sounding rough...
after the city tour, it's free and easy time. everybody rush to the branded street to buy their gucci, prada, LV...... they say, it's much cheaper to get branded goods made in europe in europe.
for an LV bag which costs S$2000 in singapore, after VAT deduction, it costs S$1300. but in prague, one customer can only buy one piece per brand. no wonder, you can see so many asians crowding in the shops like they are buying their favorite hawker food. the youngers have their ipads, iphones.... the aunties have their gucci's cartiers, LV...... the uncles...hehehe..... they have their ah huay, lucy, nurul, rani(the smart ones would have smoothen things out with LV, gucci, prada, rolex, franck muller, de beer for their wives).
the cheah family, the father, the mother and two teenagers get their 4 pieces from LV, 4 from gucci and 4 from prada, and happily walking back to the tour bus.....
"wow, you got a good deal buying so many bags....."
"no lah, only one piece for myself, the rest for my colleagues and frens." mrs cheah says with a shrug of her shoulder.
