dresden old city - pace

Looking out from the hotel window, it snows outside. The czhech-german border was closed last week due to heavy snow, and this morning they are going to travel to dresden, a german border town.

Leave Prague at 8.30am, The snow does not take any pity on their journey, it continues on. But they manage to cross the border without any incident, with a toilet stop. Then suddenly after emerging from a tunnel, sunshine greets them cheerfully. Gloomy white sky turns to turquoise blue, hopes springs eternally.

They reach dresden at 12noon. they do not check in the hotel, instead stop in the dresden old city, where the sight-seeing would be done later, to have lunch.

-------------------------------------------
Lunch(on individual expense) was in a restaurant, sophienkeller, highly recommended by the tour leader.

While walking towards the restaurant led by the tour leader, mrs cheah who was busy taking picture, lost the group and got angry with the hubby for not waiting for her. She had a tiff with her hubby and the family did not join the group for lunch.

Angor the tour guide arrived at two and took the group on a walking tour around the old city(zwinger place, opera house,Stallhof and Procession of Princes, Frauenkirche, royal palace,Brühl Terrace & Dresden Fortress Casemates ), most of these are baroque structures. August Strong built almost all the buildings. The palace the church and Zwinger, the protestant church and the opera house and the fresco of the parade depicting the royal family from 12th century to 19th century including the painter in a black hat after the royal figures at the right most of the picture

At the rail-road crossing, Angor pointing at a tram, "this is the tram. look out for it. it won't stop, only sound the bell...."

That rang a bell in his mind. two hours ago, when he thot he had lost the group when he was busy taking pictures, but noting the direction they were heading, he hurried his pace in that direction, and in his haste he ran across the railroad crossing while the tram was sounding its bell. he missed hitting the tram by a foot. Imagine if he would had slipped on the rail.......

- in life, everybody has his own pace; forcing yourself to keep pace with others is dangerous!
