stumbled into this brightly-lighted, big mall in serangoon. NEX was the name of the mall. people filled every walking space; like an army of ants rushing for foraging, the elevators were jammed-packed, like bees clinging on to the honey comb, the food courts were over-stuffed, like flies hovering over a hip of poop, the supermarket was squeezed out.
he asked the lady in a shop, "when was this opened?"
"last week."
"how's business?"
"no so good."
"but so many people."
"good for food outlets and others, but we sell winter clothing."
"why not change business."
"change to what business?"
"sell food lah."
